Jilli K here with our latest Project News!
I am happy to report that we have been working on another new project at GPAI Creative. Renee, one of our disability social enterprise students and I have been sorting and packaging a collection of gift packs using handmade items sourced from within the store. We arranged them aesthetically, ready for packaging, labeling and ready for sale.
What is unique about these gift packs is that they are a story in themselves.
Each packs brings together an eclectic yet interesting assortment of ‘works’ made by many hands:
The 'ring top pull off aluminum cans’ earrings were made in Cambodia by a women’s social enterprise call WOW CAMBODIA.
The necklaces belong to Sophie B of Angel 22 ( another of our amazing disability social enterprise students) studying business & creativity and learning to create her own range of cards.. Fabric pincushions were made by Tafe East Coast students under a community partnership known as Design Equity Project (Trainer - Michelle Dalton)
The headbands were made by Jenny Bradshaw who is the mother of one of our remarkable Specialty Golf athletes Josiah.. The bookmarks and gift cards were crafted by various students and volunteers in one of many cross pollination programs using some of the exquisite fabrics and coloured boards donated by Warwick, Zepel, James Dunlop
and ribbon donated by many other people adds that finishing touch.
#Individually these items are interesting, but collectively, they become a beautiful gift idea filled with love. We look forward to seeing the fruits of their labour!
